Reverse Props

This is one of the truly unique things about flying into Alert: When a Hercules reverses its propellers on landing to slow the plane, the sudden gust of wind lifts a cloud of snow up from the runway, and for a few brief moments the plane disappears inside it, often with just the nose visible.

For maximum effect, we need a fairly special set of circumstances: fresh snow within the last day or two, but not so much that the runway has to be plowed. Just an inch will do the trick. Bright sunlight makes for an extra impressive display.
