This photo was the result of about 20 minutes of taking very slow and careful steps, trying my best not to scare this little fox kit, his first winter coat of white just beginning to show. A few times I had to stop and wait while he looked around anxiously and whined, but eventually I was rewarded with this wonderful shot.
